The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) hosts the nationwide Week of the Young Child Celebration every year. This celebration focuses on the importance of the first 2,000 days of life. In addition, WOYC aims to lift up parents, teachers and communities that support our youngest children.
This year, the Partnership for Children of Guilford County’s Week of the Young Child 2019 celebration will run from April 8-13, 2019.
We have many, wonderful events planned for Week of the Young Child, but running a fabulous event like this takes a lot of work. We are, therefore, reaching out to the community to ask for volunteers. There are many different times, days, and activities available for volunteers, with something for everyone. With this in mind, we would love to see you step forward and donate your time.
Each day of Week of the Young Child has it’s own theme Music Monday, Tasty Tuesday, Work Together Wednesday, Artsy Thursday, and Family Friday. This year, the Partnership has curated Pinterest board for families and teachers to use in planning their own celebrations. We have recipes, activities, video, and more to explore on our board. If you try anything out from one of our boards and post pictures to social media, be sure to tag us! In addition, use the official hashtag #WOYC19. We can’t wait to see what you do!
For more ideas, you can also visit NAEYC’s Week of the Young Child page. Here you can also find an overview of the Week of the Young Child. Moreover, the Frequently Asked Questions page will help you find out even more.
Can’t wait? Check out last year’s events!
