In order to provide quality Early Care & Education the following programs are available for families, teachers and providers:
UNCG’s EQuIPD (Education, Quality Improvement & Professional Development) program
EQuIPD enhances the quality of local childcare facilities. The professionals are able to do this by providing teachers and directors with higher education supports, professional development and peer mentoring opportunities. The Rising Stars
This program is operated by Guilford County Department of Social Services. The program provides subsidies for children whose families aren’t able to afford high-quality childcare or who meet other criteria.
Bringing Out the Best
Early childhood professionals who provide a wide array of services to encourage positive social/emotional development in young children. Program therapists assess young children, and train and coach early childhood providers and parents to increase their ability to help children with social, emotional and behavioral challenges. Guiding Healthy Behaviors in Early Childhood
GHBEC promotes healthy development and the prevention of early childhood obesity by focusing on improved nutrition, physical activity and Outdoor Learning Environments. Contact Trish Nelson or visit the GHBEC page to fill out a service request form!
RCCR&R Single Portal of Entry (SPoE)
Guilford Child Development provides technical assistance and training for childcare providers to offer awareness of and access to available early childhood services and resources. The Child Care Health Consultant (CCHC)
Being administered through the Guilford County Department of Health and Human Services employs registered nurses with skills in public health, pediatric nursing and child care licensing requirements. The CCHC’s strive to promote the healthy development of children and the reduction of illnesses in the childcare setting. Good health and development plays an important role in helping children enter school ready to learn. The consultants provide technical assistance and trainings to ensure a safe and healthy environment, early detection of developmental delays, communicable and infectious disease control measures, monitoring of immunizations, and more. Guilford County Partnership for Children administers this program that is able to give 2,000+ eligible four-year olds the opportunity to attend a high-quality program before entering kindergarten—at no cost to their families.
