Guilford Free Play Project is:
A FUN, movable event that assists in creativity, exploration, social-emotional skills, and cooperative-play. This project also encourages connections with others and nature. The project will “pop up” at different Parks, Rec centers, Museums, and various other wide-open spaces. These Free Play Projects take place in Guilford County. Many thanks to the 2016 Leadership Greensboro team for starting this important work!
It’s pretty simple. Play is the work of children (and excellent for adults too)! Play is crucial for healthy child development and touches all areas of development. These areas are social-emotional, cognitive and physical. We wanted to create the chance for a safe place along with the materials for the play to naturally develop. Find some ideas here.
All children age five and younger (siblings always welcome!)
