We are pleased to share that enrollment for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (DPIL) is still open in Guilford County, and we continue to provide free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five. Thanks to our local Smart Start partner – Guilford County Partnership for Children, and private funding from donors like you, we’re able to continue offering DPIL and reach more families, even as other counties close NEW registrations due to limits in state funding as of February 1, 2025.
DPIL has had an incredible impact, helping parents increase their daily reading to their children from 45% to 67% after participation. Guilford County reaches over 50% of the children in our county ages birth to five. By fostering early literacy and building home libraries, we’re setting our children on a path toward success in school and life.
