The Anne Kirby Pre-K Teacher of the Year Award was established in memory of beloved Pre-K teacher, Anne Kirby, to recognize the dedication and outstanding accomplishments of NC Pre-K teachers in Guilford County. Each year, nominations are taken from the community, a selection committee reviews the nominations and winners are announced during Week of the Young Child. Nominations open around February each year.
It is with great pleasure to announce that we are accepting nominations for the Anne Kirby Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher of the Year award for 2025 - 2026. This is an annual award established in memory of Anne Kirby to recognize the dedication and outstanding accomplishments of NC Pre-K teachers in Guilford County.
To nominate a lead teacher or assistant teacher for these awards, please use the link below to submit your nomination by Friday, February 27, 2026. Please share this with your teaching staff. The nominees and winners will be announced during Week of the Young Child in April.

The Guilford County Partnership for Children (GCPC) will conduct an open and competitive site selection process to seek two-year applications for the provision of NC Pre-K services for eligible 4 year old children in the year prior to entering Kindergarten.
This process happens every two years. The next site selection will take place in winter of 2027 for the 2028-2029 and 2029-2030 school years. More information will be available in fall of 2027. If you have questions prior to this time, email us here.
