Our Impact, Their Future

At the Guilford County Partnership for Children, every initiative, partnership, and program is designed to support the development of children ages 0–5. From increasing access to quality early education to supporting families and educators, our impact is measured in brighter beginnings and stronger communities.

1. Improve the Early Childhood System

Our goal is to improve early childhood outcomes and ensure children have access to high-quality early learning and family support(s). To best meet the needs of children and families in Guilford County, we must enhance and strengthen an equitable system that is low-barrier and easy to navigate.

We will provide leadership to this effort by:

• Aligning our public and private funding, human capital, and early care and education programs with the needs of our community.
• Creating an environment that supports intentional partnership and collaboration among community organizations and service providers.
• Galvanizing our partners and community members to amplify the importance of early childhood education and its connection to other issues of importance.
• Ensuring all families have equitable access to high-quality programs and services.

2. Solve the Childcare Crisis

Our goal is to increase upward mobility and economic well-being in our community by improving our childcare infrastructure. At this critical juncture, families face challenges in accessing safe and consis­tent childcare, educators remain underpaid, and early care settings and local businesses face issues of recruitment and retention as a result.

We will engage the entire community in strategic problem solving by:

• Leading a thoughtful and intentional, community-wide approach to early childhood educator recruitment and retention.
• Leveraging our skills, abilities, and relationships to promote economic well-being and upward mobility by reducing challenges workers face to accessing childcare.
• Increasing access to high-quality early care and education environments.
